Project Assistant - Historic Sites

Full time, permanent


The Historic Sites Project Assistant will act as a project manager and coordinate and oversee administrative special projects for the Historic Sites and Museums Department, including the World Heritage program. Position centered in Columbus with some remote work and some in-state travel. May be possible for the right candidate to work primarily out of one of our sites in Southwest Ohio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages portfolio of special projects assigned by Director of Historic Sites and Museums.
  • Assists the Historic Sites Director in coordinating projects across internal departments and divisions and communicating with and engaging internal and external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for tracking project budgets and paying project invoices.
  • Schedules and plans meetings with Historic Site Managing Partners and World Heritage stakeholders.

Education and Experience:

Minimum of two years of relevant project management and administrative experience or equivalent combination of relevant training and experience is required. Experience with budget management, invoicing, and working with diverse groups of stakeholders.
